Case Study
For this personal project, I wanted to diversify Bakesale’s paid digital advertising and create something more polished than the standard User Generated Content (UGC) they use. I wanted to create an engaging asset that would not only showcase the brand’s unique positioning but also capture the attention of their target audience in a memorable way.
Bakesale is a unique liquor brand that brings together the worlds of homemade bakery treats and alcoholic beverages. Their signature shots infuse beloved bakery flavors, creating a fun and flavorful experience for their customers. The tasty shots are designed to be a crowd-pleaser, making them perfect for social events and gatherings. Bakesale’s branding positions itself as a fun and approachable addition to the liquor industry.
The Process
The approach to this project began with understanding Bakesale’s brand and vision. I knew that I wanted the final piece to be visually striking while staying true to the brand’s playful, approachable nature. I began sketching some frames to make a photographic gif. Playing off the brands concept of homemade desserts turned alcohol, I wanted the scene to be in a kitchen with baking ingredients scattered around.
Once the concept was finalized, I set about producing the photos. This involved staging the product, setting up the lighting, and tethering my camera to my screen–so I could see in full detail what was being captured. After shooting came color enhancement and retouching. To complete the animation, I created a tagline and applied it to the set of images in a personable, handwritten style font.





The Result
The final product was a quick, five-second video that encapsulated Bakesale’s unique appeal. The gif showcased the whimsical animation of cookies disappearing and alcohol appearing.. The video was designed to be both informative and fun, quickly communicating the essence of Bakesale’s brand—alcoholic shots infused with the sweet flavors of homemade bakery treats. The video’s short duration is perfect for paid ads, designed to deliver maximum impact in a very brief amount of time.
